At the Royal Academy of Magic (the Academy for short), Marie is failing in her attempts to study alchemy. One day, she is given an atelier by her professor as part of a special graduation exam. In order to graduate, Marie must complete an item that will impress her professor.

But first, Marie must strive to improve her alchemy skills, collect ingredients, and earn money to hire adventurers and buy recipes and utensils... Add all of that to the synthesis, battles, and quests she must undertake, and it's clear that she has a lot to do before she’s ready for her exam!

It's up to you to choose where to begin! Work hard to graduate from the Academy, but be sure to enjoy yourself along the way.

Character designs and event illustrations have been revamped, and 2D animations have also been introduced in the remake. Lydie and Suelle are twin sisters, who are also alchemists, living in Merveille, the capital of the Kingdom of Adalet, and they aim to make their atelier the best atelier in the kingdom.
One day, they find a Mysterious Painting with a strange and wonderful world inside of it, full of rare materials for their alchemy. This discovery is sure to become the very key to realizing their dream.

NIS America and Gust team up to once again offer North American gamers alchemy-based RPG action in Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk. Set in a world that no longer values alchemy, The Alchemist of Dusk stars a lonely girl named Ayesha Altugle who struggles to keep her herbalist workshop open after her grandfather dies and her little sister Nio disappears. But when Ayesha sees someone who looks like Nio walking through ruins one day, she decides her sister must still be alive and goes on a quest to find her.<br><br>Much of the gameplay focuses on Ayesha's ability to harvest or purchase hundreds of different ingredients that she can then combine into useful potions, weapons, or other items. Players are free to move around the 3D cities and shop at stores, recruit party members, and accept quests for the townsfolk. The overhead-view world map finds gamers traveling along a fixed path to various wilderness locations where they can once again move freely to harvest ingredients or engage in combat. Battles are turn-based, and players can enlist the help of their party members for combo attacks, with each character earning experience points for battlefield successes.

English is included in all three games on the cartridge.
